Nova Scotia is an Atlantic province that, by default, lies on the east coast of Canada. The name Nova Scotia was chosen as reference to Scotland and the English language meaning of the name is New Scotland. The Scottish reference can also be seen in the stark similarity that the flag of the province has with the Scottish flag. Being strategically position next to the Atlantic ocean, Nova Scotia sees a lot of cruise liners docking up on its ports that result in increased tourism in the province. The fishing industry is also huge with exports reaching throughout the world.
