About Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia is an Atlantic province that, by default, lies on the east coast of Canada. The name Nova Scotia was chosen as reference to Scotland and the English language meaning of the name is New Scotland. The Scottish reference can also be seen in the stark similarity that the flag of the province has with the Scottish flag. Being strategically position next to the Atlantic ocean, Nova Scotia sees a lot of cruise liners docking up on its ports that result in increased tourism in the province. Other than tourism, Nova Scotia is also rich in natural resources and is the world’s largest exporter of gypsum, Christmas trees, wild berries & lobster. The fishing industry is also huge with exports reaching throughout the world. Other than the traditional sectors, in more recent times, the province has also seen a rise in The Information & Communication Technology sector and invites eligible foreign nationals to choose Nova Scotia as their future home.
