One of the earliest places to be explored and settled by Europeans, New Brunswick is an Atlantic province that lies on the east of Canada. Because of its geographic limitations, New Brunswick is home to harsh winters which is why it is not as densely populated as some of the other provinces of the country. Fredericton is the capital and also one of the 3 major urban cities along with Saint John and Greater Moncton. A large section of New Brunswick is still considered rural with farming, logging, hunting, mining etc. being the main sources of income. Refined Petroleum products and seafood products are also big contributors to the economy. English and French are both commonly used in this province because of the influence from British and French colonies from the early 1700s.
