Express Entry

As the name suggests, this sub category of the Human Capital category is directly aligned with The Federal Express Entry system and the applicant must have an up to date profile and a CRS score under Express Entry to qualify under this sub category. There is no Provincial Expression of Interest required under these 3 programs:

French Speaking Skilled Worker Stream

Under this stream any applicant under The Federal Skilled Worker or The Canadian Experience Class may qualify based on his/her command over The French Language in addition to his/her command over English. The eligible client (With CLB 7 or higher in French and CLB 6 or higher in English) who already has a profile under Express Entry may find his/her profile getting picked up by Ontario resulting in a Notification of Interest (NOI). Following this, the client would need to submit an application for Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).

Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream

Under this stream, applicants (who are are currently sitting on the Federal Express Entry Pool based on their eligibility under The Canadian Experience Class or The Federal Skilled Worker Class) receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) and this allows them to submit an application with The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). The criteria for selecting applicants under the HCP stream is decided by Ontario based on the Provincial Job Market needs, and may include requirement guidelines such as education, age, language proficiency, work experience, TEER Categories or other related credentials.

Skilled Trades Stream

Similar to the other Express Entry based streams of the OINP, The Skilled Trades Stream also issues Notification of Interest (NOI) to eligible applicants from the Federal CRS Pool focusing mainly on Skilled individuals in trades occupations. To be eligible, the applicant must have accumulated 12 months (cumulative total including any gaps) of paid full-time work experience (or the equivalent in paid part-time work) in Ontario in one of the eligible occupations within the last 2 years. Eligible occupations include Major Groups 72 (exclusion: occupations under transportation officers), 73, 82, 83, 93 (exclusion: aircraft assemblers and aircraft assembly inspectors) or Minor Group 6320 (exclusion: cooks)

A successful application under any of the 3 Express Entry based streams could give the applicant an additional boost of 600 points on his/her CRS score and this virtually guarantees an Invitation To Apply (ITA) on the next Express Entry draw that gets announced.
