Yukon is the most north westernly section of Canada and the smallest of the 3 Canadian Territories. Because of the extreme weather conditions, most of Yukon is scarcely populated but the capital city of Whitehorse is considered to be the largest settlement out of all the three territories. With a total population of less than 36000 people, Yukon largely depends on Tourism for its survival with tourists visiting the province mostly in summers and in some parts of the winters for outdoor activities like skiing, dog sledding, ice climbing etc. Most of the province was founded and settled because of the gold rush era of the late 1800s and even to this day mining of gold along with various other natural resources goes on. Its a province with a very scarce population and this should be looked at as an area of opportunity for aspiring Canadian immigrants. The Yukon Nominee program with its various streams could prove to be the catalyst for some eligible applicants looking to settle down in Canada.
