Student Direct Stream (SDS)

SDS applies to Applicants from certain countries who are eligible for faster processing (as fast as 20 Calendar Days) of their Study Permit applications, provided they meet all the other eligibility requirements. The countries that are currently eligible under the SDS are:

Antigua and Barbuda, Brazil, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, India, Morocco, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Senegal, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Vietnam

Other Eligibility Requirements include:
• Letter of Acceptance from a DLI
• Be living outside Canada at the time of application submission
• Fee receipt for the 1st year of tuition
• Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) from an eligible bank having a minimum value of CAN$10,000
• For students applying to study in Quebec, have a Québec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ)
• medical exam – done by a panel physician (if required)
• police clearance certificate (if required)
• Your most recent secondary or post-secondary school transcript(s)
• Language Proficiency Test results:
* For English: International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Test Report Form where you’ve scored CLB 6.0 or higher in all the four language categories (reading, writing, speaking, and listening)
* For French: Test d’évaluation de français (TEF) Test Report Form where you’ve scored CLB 7.0 or higher in all the four language categories (reading, writing, speaking, and listening)
