The central prairie province of Saskatchewan is landlocked from all four sides but boasts of around 100,000 lakes and various rivers that run through it. The capital of the province is Regina and Saskatoon is the largest city. The province that epitomizes modernization through its vast road surface coverage of 250,000 km (largest in Canada) is also still a province that depends on agriculture to support its economy with mustard, wheat and canola being the top agricultural products. The province is also known for mining with potash and uranium being its biggest export to the world if we don’t count the number of NHL players that actually came out of this province. Canada is known for its universal healthcare system which is an envy of many developed countries of the world and helps motivate various foreign nationals to immigrate to this country each year. The first model of a publicly funded healthcare system was started at a provincial level in 1947 in Saskatchewan.
