When the Canadian authorities deny approving your immigration application, it is considered a refusal. While it is potentially possible for a Visa Officer (decision-maker) to make an error in reviewing the application, the most common cause for an application refusal is not meeting, one or more of, the eligibility criteria of the visa process.

• Invalid or misrepresented information in visa application,
• Past criminal record or indulgence in any such activity,
• Absence of valid reason for visa application,
• Absence of details related to the type of visa required,
• Missing documents,
• Wrong character certificate,
• Severe infectious disease,
• Failure to provide proof of funds or source of funds
• Lack of supporting documents of your Canadian host
• Questionable authenticity of the documents
• History of deportation or overstaying
• Human rights violation
• The passport is close to expiry.
