Ontario, with its provincial capital at Toronto, is the most populous province of Canada. Ontario is home to the national capital of Ottawa and is also known for the Golden Horseshoe region of Southern Ontario where lies the Honeymoon Capital of the World i.e. Niagara Falls. Ontario’s location between Manitoba and Quebec in Canada and in the north of U.S. states like Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York makes it a hub for various industries to invest in. Although traditionally known for agriculture, the modern day Ontario is home to some of the biggest automotive manufacturers of the world, boasts of 3 nuclear power stations, is home to Hamilton which is the country’s largest steel manufacturing city, has a booming IT industry, is big in Financial Services and is also considered the Immigration and Tourism hub of Canada. With a multicultural and diverse population, the province lights up whenever a world level sporting event like the FIFA world cup or The Olympics take place. People show support for their teams by displaying their home nations’ flags on their cars and homes but remember to go back to the Red Maple leaf on the flag of Canada, a country that they now call home.
Ontario, like all other provinces, has a few different Immigration streams that one may apply under. All the streams may not be open all throughout the year but based on certain Job Market gaps or requirements the province can start inviting applications under different streams during different times in a year. It’s a good idea to have a detailed understanding of the different OINP streams and find out which stream one may qualify to apply under so that when the right time comes, the applicant can put in the best foot forward by way of a thorough application.
Broadly speaking there are three categories of applicants who may qualify for an Ontario PNP and under each category there are different streams that one might be eligible under:
As the name suggests one can gain eligibility under this Category by way of a Full-time and Permanent Job Offer from an Eligible Ontario Employer. Since May-2021, the program has gone live with an Expression of Interest (EOI) based system and the applicant is required to create his/her profile on the OINP website and applicants are issued Invitations to Apply through draws every few months. This category can be further divided into 3 further categories.
The Human Capital Category can be divided into 2 further Sub-Categories, namely International Graduates & Express Entry.
