Manitoba is the easternmost prairie province that lies in the centre of Canada. The largest city & the capital of the province is Winnipeg which is named after Lake Winnipeg. The province is largely known for its arts and culture and is home to various festivals and cultural events spread throughout the year. Manitoba is also known to have relatively harsher winters but the shorter summers see a warm and humid continental climate with the population indulging in various fun outdoor activities during that time. The Royal Canadian Mint is also based out of Manitoba which is responsible for producing all the coins in circulation in Canada. The Fur Trade was originally responsible for attracting settlers to move to Manitoba in the early 17th century but today the province has one of the most diverse Canadian economies with Trade, Manufacturing and Finance being the top contributors to the GDP.
