Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is a permanent resident category for the people who have already proven their skills and abilities to work and adjust to the country. It is one of the fastest routes of getting a permanent residency for experienced professionals and international graduates. The ageing population of the country has increased the requirement for a skilled workforce. The core objective of this program is to increase the effective and skilled workforce in Canada.

It gives freedom to study, stay, work and travel across the country without any restrictions. The program uses the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to rank the candidates based on their credentials and then conducts periodic draws to choose eligible applicants to apply. The candidates who have good ranks in this system can expect to receive the invitation to apply.

Minimum Requirements:

1. The individual must have one year of full-time (or equivalent part-time) work experience in the country. This means 1560 hours of work spread across a 12-month period.

2. The role and responsibilities of the job should be under the New NOC / TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 Job Categories.

3. The work experience should have been gained while working under permission to legally work inside Canada.

4. The one-year experience should be recent, which is within the last three years from the application date.

5. Language Proficiency requirement: CLB 7 for TEER 0 or 1 jobs and CLB 5 for TEER 2 or 3 jobs.

6. Applicants wishing to settle in the province of Quebec cannot apply through this program, however, the Canadian work experience acquired through work done in Quebec can be counted for eligibility under this program.

A majority of the applicants under this program are physically present inside Canada at the time of applying, However, if you meet the basic eligibility criterion, you can apply for this program from anywhere in the world. For applicants who are applying from inside Canada, the proof of funds or documents related to finances are typically waived and not required.
